The printing shop employees were having difficulty seeing the true colors of the material they were printing for their customers. The seventy-five 400W metal halide fixtures currently in use provided a yellowish light that distorted colors. Colonial Electric developed a solution that saved the company money and provided a better light output to bring the light color up to an acceptable level. The print shop used 8-ft tandem fixtures and 32 watt T8 950 series lamps that gave a crisp clean output with a 90% CRI rating, bringing the light level up to the standard. Plus, the employees never had to wait for the metal halides to start up, since the new fixtures and lamps are instant-on. The company is very pleased the new energy-efficient lighting that allowed them to see true colors.
