Tropical Stone, a company that sells large slabs of granite, was having difficulty with the lighting in their warehouse. They had used over one hundred 400 W metal halide fixtures to light their warehouse. Half of the lights were in non-working condition and the other lights produced poor light output. Colonial Electric replaced the fixtures with T5HO fluorescents. The new fixtures increased light output and decreased the amount of energy used to light the facility.
Tropical Stone could now show their customers all the details and colors within the granite, making it easier to sell products, plus the company enjoyed an energy savings of over $7,500 a year.
